The Research Commissions based at institutions of higher education act as intermediaries between the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) and their home institutions. The Research Commissions provide input for the evaluation of applications from their home institution. The input may concern the infrastructure at the relevant institution, academic priorities or the personnel policy.
The Research Commissions autonomously evaluate and decide on grant applications submitted by prospective researchers from their institution.
