nano-tera.ch: ten projects chosen

nano-tera.ch, the Swiss initiative in engineering sciences, will support ten big research projects over the next four years with 25 Mio. CHF.

Each of the ten projects will be coordinated by a nano-tera.ch partner institution. Four projects will be headed by researchers from the ETHZ and four projects by researchers from the EPFL, one by researchers of the University of Basel and one project by researchers of the CSEM (Centre Suisse d'Electronique et de Microtechnique SA). In total 64 research groups are involved.

The selection of these ten projects out of 54 was made by an international renowned panel of experts. The main criteria for the selection were the scientific quality, the originality and the feasibility in the 4-year-frame of the initiative.

In 2009, a second call will be launched with again 25 Mio. CHF available.
