Funding

The Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) offers a wide range of research funding schemes which are open to scientists and academics of any nationality working in Switzerland. With few exceptions (mainly research programmes), the topics and scope of the research can be defined by the researchers themselves.

The SNSF provides various guidelines and descriptions to guide researchers and assist them in selecting an appropriate funding scheme. The documents can be found below under "Guidelines & documents":

  • Guidelines for selecting SNSF funding schemes
  • Project funding - 2011 Guidelines for applicants
  • Project funding - Description of the evaluation procedure
