DORE – Funding courses for junior scientists 

DORE (DO REsearch) is the Swiss National Science Foundation’s (SNSF) funding instrument for practical research at universities of applied sciences and universities of teacher education.

DORE supports practical research in the fields of 

  • social work
  • health
  • music and theatre
  • art
  • education
  • applied psychology
  • applied linguistics

Awards are granted for research projects, scientific conferences, publications and courses for junior scientists.

Grants for courses

Grants for courses are for educational events which aim to strengthen the research capabilities of scientific research assistants.

A maximum amount of CHF 25,000.00 is awarded per course. Funds can be used for the travel and accommodation fees of participants, speakers and those responsible for organising the course.

Application requirements

At least two different universities of applied sciences or universities of teacher education in one of the above-mentionned disciplines are required to participate. Courses must take place for five consecutive days or in two blocks of three days each.

At least eight persons must participate in the course.

Applications must be submitted no later than four months prior to the course begin.

The Regulations of the SNSF on the awarding of grants and the DORE Regulations provide further information. They are only available in German and French.
