Experienced researchers from all disciplines are available to advise young scientists specifically about their questions relating to career planning and funding by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF). They do not offer mentoring as such, but are glad to share their personal experience.

Mentoring
Mentoring programmes make an important contribution to promoting equal opportunities at universities by providing effective support for young scientists in establishing their careers. Under the equal opportunities programme of the Federal Government, federally-funded mentoring programmes were introduced at Swiss universities in the year 2000. Information on university mentoring schemes can be obtained from the equal opportunities offices at the universities and at the two technical universities (ETH).
Since 2006 the SNSF is financially participating in the mentoring programmes, "Mentoring Deutschschweiz" and "Réseau romand". A number of places are reserved for recipients of SNSF funding in both programmes.
