In total, 1862 scientific peer-reviewed articles have been published, 35 thereof in very high-rankeing journals such as Nature and Science. Beside these quantitative aspects, scientific excellence is also reflected in the large number of prestigious scientific prizes awarded to participating researchers. In 2010 Prof. Loss won the Benoist prize and in 2012 Prof. Gerber received the Lifetime Achievement Award from Nature, to name only the most important. The scientific success of the NCCR Nanoscale Science lead to three ERC grants and a contribution in the EU Flagship on Graphene, as well as to a variety of other important grants.
