Once the scientific evaluation has been completed, the SNSF informs all applicants about the scientific and structural evaluation of their proposals. The SNSF communicates its decisions on proposals not recommended for implementation in the form of a ruling (rejection).
Once the evaluation with regard to research and higher education policies is completed, the EAER communicates its decisions on all NCCR proposals recommended for implementation to the parties responsible in the form of a ruling (setup of an NCCR or rejection).
After a positive decision by the EAER, the SNSF signs a contract with the parties responsible for the NCCR (home institution, NCCR Director, heads of individual projects); the contract regulates the following issues:
- the goals of the NCCR for the first four years of the contract (incl. start date)
- the rights and obligations of the contracting parties
- the provisions with respect to the progress review and the application procedure for the second phase
In addition, requirements of the EAER and the SNSF may be stipulated in the contract.
