R'Equip is aimed at researchers in Switzerland who need top-quality, innovative equipment for their research work. The SNSF awards grants for the acquisition and development of large-scale apparatuses in all areas of science.
A grant pays for the acquisition of equipment worth at least CHF 100,000. It generally covers up to 50% of the acquisition costs and amounts to a maximum of CHF 1 million.
Please take note of the changes in the R’Equip regulation (article 7a) on research equipment modified after approval of the grant.

Evaluation process and evaluation bodies
R'Equip applications are evaluated either by the Research Council (Div. I) or the R'Equip Panel, which includes members of the Research Council (Div. II), based on external reviews by experts in the field. Alternatively, applications may be evaluated through a Reader System (Div. III): a “virtual panel”, with several external experts comparing and evaluating a predefined number of applications. The results of this evaluation are integrated into an overall evaluation. The Steering Committee and the respective Division of the Research Council have an advisory role in this process.
The list contains the names of the members of the evaluation body Panel R'EQUIP. For the SNSF, interaction between applicants and members of evaluation bodies over applications is not compatible with academic best practices.
