Lead Agency process with the Czech Republic

Under the Lead Agency process, a joint application by researchers in Switzerland and the Czech Republic can be submitted to one of the two national research funding organisations. The submission process is governed by the provisions in force at the relevant organisation

At the Czech Science Foundation (GACR), the Lead Agency process is limited to Lead Agency Grants.

In both countries the maximum project duration is 3 years.

At approximately 25 per cent, the success rate of GACR is lower than the SNSF’s success rate.

All applications must be in English.

Submission 2020: The SNSF and GACR have agreed to take turns as the Lead Agency on a yearly basis. In 2020, the SNSF will have the role of Lead Agency, regardless of whether the larger portion of the project budget is requested in Switzerland or in the Czech Republic.

Deadline for submission: 8 April 2020 at 5.00 pm at the SNSF.

When the SNSF is the Lead Agency, Czech applicants must also submit the application at GACR.

If you submit an application under the Lead Agency process to a foreign partner organization which serves as Lead Agency or as part of an ERA-NET call, you have to complete the DMP on mySNF once the project is approved, regardless of whether a DMP is requested by the foreign partner organization/by the consortium. The DMP covers all research data which are generated or used during the project and has to comply with the SNSF Open Research Data Policy.
