Lead Agency process with Poland

Under the Lead Agency process, a joint application by researchers in Switzerland and Poland can be submitted to one of the two national research funding organisations. The submission process is governed by the provisions in force at the relevant organisation.

At the National Science Center Poland (NCN), the Lead Agency process is limited to the Opus programme.

In both countries, the maximum project duration is 3 years.

At approximately 30 per cent, the success rate at the NCN is lower than the SNSF’s success rate.

All applications must be in English.

Submission in 2019: The SNSF and the NCN have agreed to take turns as the Lead Agency on a yearly basis. In 2019, the SNSF will have the role of Lead Agency, regardless of whether the larger portion of the project budget is requested in Switzerland or in Poland. Deadline for submission: 1 October 2019 at 5.00 pm.

When the SNSF is the Lead Agency, Polish applicants must also submit the application at the NCN. The NCN will publish information in June or July 2019 regarding the "Alphorn" call, which is part of the OPUS funding scheme.

The data management plan (DMP) covers all research data generated or used during the project.
