At the National Science Centre (NCN), the Weave process can be initiated as part of the OPUS funding scheme (if NCN acts as a lead agency) or within the Weave-UNISONO scheme (if SNSF acts as a lead agency).

Weave proposals are part of the SNSF's project funding scheme. Applicants may have a maximum of two simultaneous project funding grants. One of these must be a Weave/Lead Agency/International Co-Investigator Scheme project. In addition, the topics of the two projects must be clearly distinct from one another.

The duration of the projects is the same in both countries and is 24, 36 or 48 months. The project is due to start on the same date in both countries.

The next deadline for submissions to the NCN is in December 2026.

If the application is submitted to the NCN, a copy must be submitted to the SNSF via mySNF within seven days.

In the case the SNSF has the lead and the budget in euros for Polish teams in the budget table submitted to the SNSF differs significantly from the budget in zloty introduced into NCN submission OSF system, the proposal will be rejected for formal reasons. Please consult the NCN website for the valid euro/zloty exchange rate.
