Should I submit my grant application to the CTI or to the SNSF?

The Commission for Technology and Innovation (CTI) funds market-oriented research and development projects (R&D) conducted by companies in collaboration with universities. The aim is to ensure that more companies apply the R&D resources of the universities to their own innovations. In contrast, the SNSF mainly funds scientific research aimed at gaining new insights. Such research does not have any directly commercial purposes.
