What support does the SNSF offer for maternity and paternity leave?

As concerns maternity leave, the SNSF applies the local rules. In certain circumstances, an application for extension of the project or employment of a support person may be considered. Fellowship holders of the SNSF who become mothers in the course of the research fellowship can claim four months' paid maternity leave. Fellowship holders who become fathers may also be granted up to four months' maternity leave during the course of the SNSF fellowship in response to a request giving reasons.
