Departure of SNSF deputy director François Baumgartner

François Baumgartner, deputy director of the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) is leaving the organisation at the end of October 2019.

The Executive Committee of the Foundation Council thanks him for his commitment and wishes him all the best.

Mr Baumgartner, who has a PhD in geophysics as well as a Master's degree in public management, started working for the SNSF on 1 September 2016. He was primarily responsible for the SNSF's research funding schemes. Before joining the SNSF, Mr Baumgartner served as deputy director, interim director and head of the Health and Social Affairs division at the Federal Statistical Office. He also worked for the general secretariat of the Federal Department of Home Affairs.
