Overview of the new snf.ch website

The fully overhauled website snf.ch is now online! It features a host of new functions and a completely new design. The new site offers an improved navigation structure, easier access, clearly organised information pages and the integration of interactive elements.

The new layout of the website is tidier. It is more modern and light despite an abundance of content. The navigation structure has been radically simplified in order to create a better service for visitors. The three main navigation links are "The SNSF", "Funding" and "Research in Focus". The five key innovations for each of these navigation links are explained below:

The SNSF
  • SNSF blog:the new blog features the views of the SNSF management on current issues. Readers are welcome to post comments.
  • Evaluation procedure:this page describes comprehensively and in detail the key processes involved in the evaluation of proposals.
  • Research policies:statements by the SNSF on all important research-related issues.
  • Job offers:the latest job offers from the Administrative Offices of the SNSF are published here and updated daily.
  • National Research Council: the members of the National Research Council and their functions, fields of expertise and contact details can be found here via an easy-to-use search function.

Funding
  • Selection guide:the new tool offers researchers a simple means of finding the most suitable funding scheme. All schemes can be compared with one another.
  • How to:this help page offers assistance to those wishing to submit an application or cooperate with the SNSF and its bodies.
  • FAQs:all important questions on the SNSF's funding activities are answered on this page. New FAQs can be entered directly.
  • Documents & downloads:key regulations, guidelines and forms are made available on this help page.
  • Overview pages - funding:concise summaries of the funding options with regard to young researchers, gender equality and international research activities are published here.

Research in focus
  • News:the news room contains the latest articles, news and twitter feeds as well as upcoming events and other informative content.
  • Dossiers:articles on current topics of overarching interest are collected and made available in the form of dossiers.
  • Social media & newsletter:news can be subscribed to via various information channels: e-mail, Twitter, Facebook or RSS feed.
  • Research magazine Horizons:the magazine is published four times a year; you can subscribe to it free-of-charge on this page or read it as an e-paper/PDF.
  • Research database P3:this database contains thousands of research projects and their results. Access is easy and direct.

The new sharing buttons allow users to post links to websites directly on various social networks (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) or to send them via e-mail. The buttons can be found at the top of each page on the right.
