ERA.Net RUS Plus: S&T Call is published now
The aim of ERA.Net RUS Plus is to enhance the coordination of joint research programmes between EU countries / associated countries and Russia. Switzerland is also participating. A call is to be issued for projects involving at least three countries, one of them being Russia.
The duration of a project is at least 24 months but should not exceed 30 months.
Partner countries
The following countries are also taking part in ERA.Net RUS Plus: Austria, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany (coordination), Latvia, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Turkey.
Topics of the call
Approximately EUR 15.8 million will be made available by the partner countries for the single joint call, with each partner institution in a given country funding its own researchers. The following topics are addressed in the call:
- Nanotechnologies (Subtopics: Advanced nano-sensors for environment and health / Novel functional nanomaterials based on design and modelling / Nanomaterials for efficient lighting)
- Environment / Climate change (Subtopics: Increasing the reliability of regional climate projections / Environmental impact and risk of raw materials extraction and transportation / Extreme climate events and their impact on the environment)
- Health (Subtopics: Molecular mechanisms of brain function and pathology / Regenerative medicine and biomaterials / Drug discovery for cancer, cardiovascular and infectious diseases)
- Social sciences and humanities (Subtopics: Understanding conflict, identity and memory / Demographic change, migration and migrants / Opportunities for and challenges to regional development and social cohesion)
Schedule
There will be a two-stage submission and evaluation procedure with short time windows for the submission of proposals.
- 25 June 2014: publication of the single joint call
- 25 September 2014: submission deadline for pre-proposals
The submission deadline for full proposals is not yet known. The approved projects will be able to start as of summer 2015.
