The SNSF Research Council invites researchers, experts and the interested public to participate in the conference "Gender and Excellence - Challenges in Research Funding" at the Kursaal Bern on 22 October 2014. The aim is to identify new ways of realising gender equality in research funding.

Women continue to be under-represented in top science and research positions. As a result, women are awarded less research funding than men - despite numerous measures to promote equal opportunities.
