The prize, which is worth 100,000 Swiss francs, will be awarded by the Swiss National Science Foundation on behalf of the Geneva-based Latsis Foundation. It is reserved for highly qualified researchers of up to 40 years of age and emphasises the importance of promoting young researchers for Swiss science. A prizewinner is selected by the Swiss National Science Foundation each year.
The award ceremony begins at 10.30 a.m. at the Rathaus in Berne. By 12.00 a.m. an aperitif will be served.
