Christophe Giovannini is new head of communications at the SNSF

As of 9 November 2015, Christophe Giovannini will be responsible for communication at the SNSF. He succeeds Jürg Dinner, who will become head of communications at the University of Zurich.

​Christophe Giovannini is a trilingual journalist with 25 years of media experience and profound knowledge of Swiss and international politics. In the last seven years, he served as editor-in-chief and member of the executive management at SWI swissinfo.ch, the online news and information platform that explains and promotes Switzerland and Swiss issues around the world based on its federal mandate. Prior to this, he was head of the English department at the same media outlet, which communicates in ten languages. Born in Fribourg in 1965, Christophe Giovannini spent his early years in New Delhi, Berne and Fribourg before beginning his studies in philosophy, history and journalism at the University of Neuchâtel. After obtaining his degree, he started off his career at the Swiss News Agency (SNA), working as an editor, correspondent and team leader. Christophe Giovannini lives with his wife in Berne.

As of 9 November 2015, Christophe Giovannini will replace Jürg Dinner, who will join the University of Zurich as head of communications after having performed this role for two years at the SNSF. The SNSF executive management would like to thank Jürg Dinner already now for his commitment and the dynamism he has shown in pursuing his projects.
