Joint Programme on Neurodegenerative Diseases (JPND): outcome of 2016 call

Following the JPND call "Harmonisation and Alignment in Brain Imaging Methods for Neurodegeneration", ten projects were selected for funding. Swiss researchers are participating in one project.

In total, 18 consortium proposals were submitted in response to the EU JPND rapid-action call 2016. At the end of a highly competitive selection process, ten projects were selected for funding. Swiss researchers are participating in the project "Harmonisation of acquisition and processing of brain imaging biomarkers for neurodegenerative diseases: a strategic research agenda for best practice guidelines".

The project involves 25 researchers from 11 European countries (Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Slovenia, Sweden, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Turkey, United Kingdom and Switzerland), and is coordinated by the Swiss scientist Giovanni Frisoni (Geneva). The objective of this working group is to address issues of key relevance for the future use of brain imaging techniques in the above-mentioned fields of research. The project will be financially supported by the SNSF in the coming year.
