Researchers meet the public: 20 new Agora projects

Following the sixth call for proposals for its Agora funding scheme, the SNSF has approved 20 new projects submitted by researchers aiming to share their research with the public.

The SNSF is allocating a total budget of 3.6 million Swiss francs to 20 of the 54 proposals submitted. This corresponds to approximately 37% of the total amount requested by the researchers. Scientists working in areas as diverse as theoretical physics, the role of women in research, journalism, biodiversity, recent history and mathematics will communicate with a large group of people from small children to adults. The highly creative communication methods to be used are likely to trigger a mutually rewarding dialogue between the researchers and the public.

The Agora timetable has been modified, with effect from the next call of proposals. New submission deadline: 1 September 2017. The projects selected for funding from this seventh call will start on 1 March 2018 at the earliest.
