Cooperative research programme between Switzerland and Croatia

09/Oct/2017

The Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) and its Croatian counterpart are launching the Croatian-Swiss Research Programme.

Switzerland is participating in the EU enlargement by supporting the efforts to reduce economic and social disparities. The supported countries include Croatia, one of the most recent EU members. One area of cooperation is scientific research: the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) has mandated the SNSF and its Croatian counterpart, the Croatian Science Foundation (CSF), to issue a call for Joint Research Projects (JRPs) as part of the Croatian-Swiss Research Programme 2017 – 2023 (CSRP).

The call is thematically open and aims to fund ten to twelve projects, provided that a sufficient number of high-quality proposals are submitted.

Joint research initiatives

The CSRP responds to the Croatian scientific community's demand for more international integration and cooperation with colleagues from Western Europe in particular. It does so by mobilising research capacities in Switzerland and Croatia. The programme supports scientific cooperation by funding JRPs between Switzerland and Croatia. JRPs generally last up to three years. An extension of up to six months is possible if no additional funds are required.

Applicants can submit their proposals on the submission platform mySNF between 9 October 2017 and 19 January 2018.
