Strategic Japanese-Swiss Science and Technology Programme (SJSSTP): second call with the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS)

In the frame of the Strategic Japanese-Swiss Science and Technology Programme (SJSSTP) and in collaboration with the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS), the SNSF launches the second bilateral call for Joint Research Projects (JRPs) with Japan. 8-10 projects can be financed.

Following the first successful call for Joint Research Projects (JRPs) with Japan with the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) of 2016, a second call will be launched. JRPs enable researchers in Switzerland and Japan to work together on a project. Most of the projects will run for three years and the grants of Swiss researchers will cover similar costs as project funding grants (research funds, salaries, etc.). Applications arerestricted to the following thematic area Mathematics, Natural and Engineering Sciences.

The evaluation takes place in two steps (pre- and full proposals). The results from the first phase (pre-proposals) will be communicated in September 2018. Full proposal submission is only upon invitation. The submission deadline for full proposals is 24 September 2018. The results from the second phase (full proposals) will be communicated in May 2019.
