JPND JTC Call 2020 - EU Joint Programme Neurodegenerative Disease Research

The EU Joint Programme – Neurodegenerative Disease Research (JPND): joint transnational call on imaging and brain stimulation methods and technologies.

The JPND, which aims to support transnational collaboration on neurodegenerative disease research, is launching a call for proposals on "Novel imaging and brain stimulation methods and technologies related to neurodegenerative diseases".

This joint transnational call will promote research aiming at the development of novel and the advanced use of existing cutting-edge brain imaging and brain stimulation technologies related to neurodegenerative diseases. Approaches must be translational and patient-centered.

The upcoming call will focus on the following research areas:

  • Imaging technologies: development of novel imaging technologies or improvements to the application of existing cutting-edge imaging technologies for a better understanding of the onset, development and progression of neurodegenerative diseases.
  • Brain stimulation techniques: development of new or improved applications of both invasive and non-invasive brain stimulation techniques for the diagnosis and treatment of neurodegenerative diseases.

The neurodegenerative diseases addressed by the call are Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, Parkinson’s disease and related disorders, prion diseases, motor neuron diseases, Huntington’s disease, spinocerebellar ataxia and spinal muscular atrophy.

For further details, please refer to the programme’s official website. The submission deadline for pre-proposals is 3 March 2020.
