Media training courses and writing courses in June: special online format

The world may be watching mainly virologists and epidemiologists these days but all researchers who engage in science communication need to adapt to the new forms of communication. Since the beginning of the crisis, interviews via Skype, Zoom and WhatsApp have been increasingly frequent. These interviews are similar to traditional interviews but there are some specific rules and dynamics to consider. And they often take place in people's homes. Many media appearances are therefore video live streams. The pitfalls include awkward camera position, bad light, poor audio quality and lack of clarity in statements.

In the new online media training courses, participants practice preparing for such interviews, making a convincing impression and delivering good arguments. They also learn all they need to know about webcams. The know-how acquired in the online media courses will also improve the way you communicate in online meetings, video presentations and phone interviews as well as classic interviews.

The next media training courses will take place on 6/13/26 June (German) as well as on 26 June (French). The one-day writing courses will take place on 19 June (French) and 20 June (German). All courses last one day. Online presence is divided into three time slots; the rest of the time participants work offline.

What next?

At the moment it is unclear what format the courses will assume when they are re-run in the second half of the year. We will publish further information in the course of the summer.
