Sinergia: innovations and new submission dates as of 2016

As part of its review of project funding, the SNSF is re-positioning its Sinergia funding scheme. New regulations will apply for the next submission deadline on 1 June 2016.

The SNSF plans to integrate the Interdisciplinary Projects funding scheme into Sinergia. As of 2016, the SNSF will award Sinergia grants for projects conducted by consortia composed of two to four researchers. The projects should be collaborative, interdisciplinary and result in breakthrough research.

Some of the changes are based on the new Funding Regulations, which will enter into force in January 2016. More detailed information will be published by the SNSF in autumn 2015.

The final submission deadline for the Interdisciplinary Projects scheme is 1 October 2015; subsequently the scheme will be merged with Sinergia.
