Nadja Capus is the new president of the Commission on Research Integrity

The Presiding Board of the SNSF Research Council has appointed Nadja Capus, professor of criminal law and criminal procedure at the University of Neuchâtel, as president of the Commission on Research Integrity.

The SNSF considers the principles of good scientific practice as an important guideline for everyone who is involved in SNSF activities, be it as a member of the National Research Council, an applicant or an external reviewer. Confidence in the fact that research work is carried out conscientiously is a sine qua non for research funding. Since October 2013, the Commission on Research Integrity has been responsible for investigating suspected cases of academic misconduct in connection with SNSF applications and grants.

The commission's new president is Professor Nadja Capus, who will be at the helm for the next regular period of office from August 2017 until the end of July 2021. Since August 2016, Nadja Capus has been professor of criminal law and criminal procedure at the University of Neuchâtel. Between 2011 and 2016, she worked as an SNSF professor at the University of Basel, leading the research project "The changing face of criminal procedure". She succeeds Kurt Seelmann, professor of criminal law and philosophy of law at the University of Basel.
