    Submission of proposals

The applications must be submitted via the mySNF platform.

    Evaluation procedure

Every module has its own review panel whose members are elected by the Steering Committee of the r4d programme, the Research Council and the SDC management. The panels consist of six to eight international experts from research and practice.

    A two-stage evaluation procedure applies:

    • In response to a call for proposals, applicants submit an eight-page pre-proposal. The international experts from research and practice then review these pre-proposals with regard to their scientific quality and their relevance for development. On the basis of these reviews, the review panel discusses the submitted projects.
    • In the second phase, the authors of the approved pre-proposals are invited to submit full proposals. As in the first phase, the proposals are reviewed by international experts and evaluated by the review panel. The National Research Council then approves or rejects the proposals.
