SNF-Corona-Forschungskonferenz, 21. bis 23. März 2023, Thun
Der Schweizerische Nationalfonds führt vom 21.-23. März 2023 die SNF-Corona-Forschungskonferenz durch, an der alle durch den SNF finanzierten Corona-Forschungsteams sowie weitere auf dem Gebiet tätige Forschende zusammenkommen.

Insgesamt werden rund 100 Forschungsgruppen erwartet, die die zahlreichen Forschungsfelder rund um SARS-CoV-2 und die Pandemieforschung vertreten. Die Hauptgruppe der Teilnehmenden bilden die Forschungsteams aus den Nationalen Forschungsprogrammen «Covid-19» (NFP 78) und «Covid-19 in der Gesellschaft» (NFP 80) sowie der SNF-Sonderausschreibung zu Coronaviren. Daneben werden weitere Forschungsgruppen von Innosuisse, dem SNF und EU-assoziierten Corona-Forschungsprojekten teilnehmen.
Corona-Forschende zusammenbringen
Ziele dieser interdisziplinären Konferenz sind ein Update und der Wissensaustausch zwischen den biomedizinischen, den sozialwissenschaftlichen und weiteren Disziplinen. In thematischen Diskussions- und Präsentationsrunden sowie im Rahmen von Poster-Sessions soll die Sensibilisierung für den Nutzen der kurz- sowie auch der langfristigen Forschung zur Bewältigung von Pandemien gefördert werden. Gleichzeitig werden Herausforderungen identifiziert, die die Wissenschaft zu bewältigen hat, um besser gegen künftige Pandemien vorbereitet zu sein. Die Konferenz schafft zudem Raum für Diskussionen, um Errungenschaften und Herausforderungen des Wissenschafts- und Innovationssystems, und das Verständnis für die vielfältigen Aspekte einer Pandemie zu vertiefen.
Das Konferenzprogramm deckt zusätzlich das Kick-off Meeting des NFP 80 ab, sowie die Abschlusskonferenzen des NFP 78 und der SNF-Sonderausschreibung zu Coronaviren.
