National partners
The SNSF coordinates its activities with the federal authorities, Innosuisse, the universities and the academies.
Within the scope of its research funding activities, the SNSF collaborates closely with national partners. The SNSF receives mandates from and cooperates with the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI), Innosuisse and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) with regard to numerous national and international research programmes and initiatives. Other partners are the higher education institutions and the academies.

Innosuisse
Innosuisse – Swiss Innovation Promotion Agency is the federal government’s funding agency for research-based innovation. It supports projects in applied and market-oriented research and development (R&D) conducted jointly by companies and Swiss universities.
The goal of the SNSF and Innosuisse co-operation is to ensure that links are forged between research and innovation through targeted measures. In overlapping areas, Innosuisse and the SNSF coordinate their strategies. They are cooperating in various fields and at different levels.
SERI
Responsible for drawing up and implementing policy in the areas of science, research, university education and space policy in Switzerland, the SERI coordinates related activities within the Federal Administration and ensures cooperation with the cantons and institutions.
The SNSF has signed a service level agreement with SERI. It contains the goals and performance indicators agreed between the SNSF and SERI for the relevant four-year period. Both parties to the agreement regularly check whether the relevant goals are met.
SDC
The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) is the agency responsible for international cooperation in the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA). It is responsible for the overall coordination of development measures and cooperation with partner countries as well as for federal humanitarian aid.
