The SNSF provides information on the research projects that it has funded since 1975 via its Data Portal. It has now enhanced the search function and visual navigation, making the data even easier to use.

Are you interested in research into astronomy, or are you looking for an expert on the circular economy? The SNSF Data Portal makes projects and the researchers involved easier to find. As of 26 October 2026, it has become even easier to explore the more than 90,000 projects funded since 1975 and to browse the wealth of information.

Clear filters make the Grant Search easier to use

A new feature allows users to search specifically within certain fields. For instance, they can narrow their search to the content or the names of the people involved. The simplified interface also enables users to refine their search results in just a few clicks, for example by discipline, research institution or output data.

Another new feature is the useful search summary. It shows how the projects in question are distributed over the years, the total amount granted, and which three researchers are most frequently involved.

The existing functions of the Grant Search will remain unchanged. The datasets relating to projects funded by the SNSF can still be downloaded for further analysis. In addition, the Data Portal continues to provide key figures from recent years and, through its data stories, illustrates how research funding shapes science, society and politics. The SNSF will continue to maintain the Data Portal diligently and develop it in line with user needs.
