Award Ceremony of the National Latsis Prize 2014

The National Latsis Prize 2014 will be awarded to Tobias J. Kippenberg, professor at the Institute of Condensed Matter Physics, Laboratory of Photonics and Quantum Measurements at EPF Lausanne. He receives the prize in recognition of his outstanding and pioneering work in the field of quantum optomechanics.

​The prize, which is worth 100,000 Swiss francs, will be awarded by the Swiss National Science Foundation on behalf of the Geneva-based Latsis Foundation. It is reserved for highly qualified researchers of up to 40 years of age and emphasises the importance of promoting young researchers for Swiss science. A prizewinner is selected by the Swiss National Science Foundation each year.

The award ceremony begins at 10.30 a.m. at the Rathaus in Berne. By 12.00 a.m. an aperitif will be served.
