Election of a new President of the National Research Council

Martin Vetterli, President of the National Research Council of the SNSF, has decided not to stand for a second period of office (2017-2020). He has been appointed president of EPFL as of 2017.

The Executive Committee will elect a new President of the Research Council later this year. According to the election regulations for the National Research Council, the President will be elected based on a recommendation by the nomination commission. This commission has now been appointed. It comprises the President of the Foundation Council (chair), representatives of the Research Council, the Director of the Administrative Offices and two external members.

Candidates may apply either in their own name or through a scientific organisation based in Switzerland. The deadline for the submission of applications is5 June 2016.
