Strengthening cooperation to rebuild Ukraine’s research ecosystem

The SNSF has joined the Coalition for Science, Research and Innovation in Ukraine. The aim is to support the rebuilding of its research ecosystem. The Coalition’s first meeting took place in Gdańsk on 26 June 2026.

The SNSF has joined the International Coalition for Science, Research and Innovation in Ukraine. By becoming a member of the Coalition together with the Swiss Academies of Arts and Sciences and the Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research (EAER), the SNSF aims to contribute to better coordination of support measures for Ukraine and to facilitate the sharing of expertise and resources. The SNSF is thereby expanding its existing support activities, which include 20 joint Swiss-Ukrainian research projects as well as its financial contribution to the Light for Ukraine project.

The Coalition’s first meeting took place in Gdańsk on 26 June 2026, on the sidelines of the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC). The SNSF adopted the Gdańsk Declaration.
