SNSF Foundation Council: Luciana Vaccaro elected to the Executive Committee
Luciana Vaccaro, rector of the UAS Western Switzerland has been elected to the Executive Committee of the SNSF Foundation Council. She will take up office with immediate effect.
Representatives
of the science organisations of the SNSF Foundation Council have elected
Luciana Vaccaro to the Executive Committee of the Foundation Council for the
remainder of the 2012-2015 period of office. As successor to Jakob Limacher,
she represents the Swiss Universities of Applied Sciences.
With a
PhD in science from the EPFL, Luciana Vaccaro began her career as an assistant
professor at the Microtechnic Institute of the University of Neuchâtel
(Institut de microtechnique de l’Université de Neuchâtel). Later she became the
director of a MAS (Master of Advanced Studies) programme in health economics at
the University of Lausanne. In 2009, she established the Grants Office of the
EPFL, which she led until her nomination as rector of the HES-SO.
