Eleven MD-PhD fellowships awarded in 2016
The national MD-PhD commission has awarded an MD-PhD fellowship to eleven young physicians interested in research. The fellowships are funded by the Swiss Academy of Medical Sciences (SAMS), the SNSF and the Swiss Cancer Research foundation.
The 2016 winners of an MD-PhD fellowship were chosen on the basis of interviews with the 26 candidates who had been pre-selected for the national programme by the local MD-PhD commissions of the various universities. The fellowships amount to CHF 60,000 per year for up to three years; they cover the living costs of the fellowship holders while they work towards their PhDs.
