Quantum Transitional Call
Funding for researchers in Switzerland excluded from quantum topics of the Horizon Europe call “Digital and emerging technologies for competitiveness and fit for the green deal”.
Due to Switzerland's current status as a non-associated third country in the Horizon Europe programme, the federal government has mandated the SNSF to launch the Quantum Transitional Call funding scheme. It is aimed at scientists in Switzerland excluded from quantum topics of the Horizon Europe call “Digital and emerging technologies for competitiveness and fit for the green deal”.
The Quantum Transitional Call is open to researchers affiliated with a higher education research center in Switzerland.
Applicants must carry out their work independently, under their own responsibility and with objectives they have set for themselves. In addition, their research must be in one of the following quantum fields:
- Quantum software ecosystem for quantum computing platforms
- Developing quantum computers
- Developing quantum simulation platform technologies
- Quantum communication
- Quantum sensing technologies based on effects such as entanglement and superposition
In addition, projects on quantum materials are welcome if they are key to one of the technologies mentioned above.
