Eccellenza funding scheme: call for proposals postponed

The SNSF may offer a transitional solution also for the ERC Starting Grants 2022. It is therefore postponing the call for proposals for its Eccellenza funding scheme.

Switzerland is currently a non-associated third country in the EU's Horizon Europe research and innovation programme. On behalf of the federal government, the SNSF already created two transitional solutions in October 2021: the SNSF Advanced Grants and the SNSF Swiss Postdoctoral Fellowships. The SNSF may also receive a mandate from the federal government to offer measures for researchers who wanted to apply for an ERC Starting Grant in 2022. In light of this, the launch of the SNSF Eccellenza Professorial Fellowships call, scheduled for 1 November 2021, is being postponed.

The deadline for submitting Eccellenza proposals will be 1 February 2022 at the earliest. Applicants who meet the personal requirements for this funding scheme remain eligible to apply, regardless of the date of the call.

Further information on any new transitional solutions and on the SNSF Eccellenza Professorial Fellowships will follow as soon as possible.
