Water4All: European call for pre-proposals

The European partnership Water4All has launched the transnational call for research and innovation pro-posals. Swiss-based researchers can take part.

The 2022 joint transnational call of Water4All, involving 29 countries, will bring together research and innovation on water in Europe and beyond to improve water security in the long term. With this call, Water4All supports transnational research projects aiming to deliver knowledge, models, approaches, tools and methodologies to better understand hydrological processes at different scales and to respond more effectively to emerging water issues related to extreme events.

The research and innovation proposals are required to address one or more of the following topics:

  • Resilience, adaptation and mitigation to hydroclimatic extreme events,
  • Tools for water management in the context of hydroclimatic extreme events,
  • Improved water governance in the context of hydroclimatic extreme events and in international contexts.

Researchers from at least three countries

International consortia composed of researchers from at least three of the 29 following countries may submit a proposal: Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Moldova, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey and United Kingdom. Consortia must contain researchers from at least two EU Member States or Horizon Europe Associated Countries (Switzerland, Brazil and South Africa are not associated to Horizon Europe). Swiss-based researchers can coordinate a project.

Supported by the SNSF

An international panel will scientifically evaluate the pre-proposals and proposals. Each partner in a consortium is supported by a funding agency from their country or region. Applicants from Switzerland must be eligible for the SNSF project funding scheme and are strongly encouraged to contact us if they are submitting their first application to the SNSF. Along with the application to Water4All, they need to submit an administrative application to the SNSF via mySNF under Projects/Partnerships/Water4All.
