Large turnout for the third GSFN Summer Meet
Around 170 former and current holders of SNSF fellowships met on 30 June 2025 to discuss their postdoc years and next career moves.
On 30 June 2025, the Global SNSF Fellows Network (GSFN) held its third Summer Meet. Around 170 early-career researchers took part in the event, either in person at the SNSF or online. Most were postdocs, but there were also doctoral candidates and assistant professors. Participants came from Switzerland, Europe and North America, among other places. "The turnout was very encouraging, with all the on-site places filled," commented the GSFN Board. "This shows the need for this type of event."
Information sessions and informal discussions
The programme included information sessions, panel discussions on the postdoctoral years and next career moves. There were also opportunities to find out more at informational stands and to speak with SNSF staff and other early-career researchers. "Participants appreciated the informal aspect and the stimulating exchanges," emphasised the GSFN Board.
Founded in October 2020, the GSFN is an independent initiative that brings together current and former holders of SNSF career fellowships. It currently has over a thousand members. In addition to Summer Meets, it regularly offers webinars on a range of topics related to scientific careers.
