Water4All: new call opening
Water4All is launching a new call for projects on water for circular economy. Swiss-based researchers can participate.
Circular economy is a development strategy that emphasizes the finite nature of resources and the need for efficiency in their use at all scales. The basic principles involved in the changes needed to achieve transition to a circular economy include the reduction of waste and pollution; the circulation of resources, products and materials; and general environmental protection. In a context of global changes, the Water4All Joint Transnational Call 2024 aims at delivering new solutions to develop new circular feedstocks and value chains, to increase water resource efficiency, to improve water allocation, and to optimise water use in water-dependent sectors. The JTC 2024 will also focus on potential barriers to the adoption and implementation of the proposed solutions as well as on the impact on inland and coastal water environments.
To this end, the call covers the following four non-exclusive research themes:
- Enhancement of water circularity in industries
- Urban water circularity
- Resource recovery and valorisation
- Economic, environmental and social implications of water reuse and recovered products
Supported by the SNSF
An international panel will scientifically evaluate the pre-proposals and full proposals. All research partners in a consortium are supported by their own national or regional funding agency. Swiss-based researchers applying for financial support from the SNSF to participate in the call must meet the eligibility requirements for SNSF project funding. Along with the application to Water4All, they need to submit an administrative application to the SNSF by the same submission deadline. Applicants are strongly encouraged to contact the SNSF Administrative Offices in advance if this will be their first time submitting an application. Further specifications for participation are outlined in the List of national and regional regulations published on the call website.
The submission deadline for pre-proposals is 13 November 2024.
