A new call for multilateral research and innovation projects involving researchers based in Southeast Asia and Europe has been launched. It encourages collaboration on topics of mutual interest to both regions.

Since 2017, the JFS has implemented joint calls to fund bi-regional, multilateral research and innovation projects. The selected topics are of interest to the participating national or local funding agencies from Southeast Asia and Europe. The aim is to pool resources multilaterally to promote collaborative research projects.

The SNSF is participating in the 10th JFS call. Swiss-based researchers from all disciplines can apply if their projects fall under one of the following subject areas:

  • Topic 1: New Materials and Green Transition

  • Topic 2: Climate-Resilient, Smart Agriculture using AI and IoT (Internet of Things)

At least three partners from three different countries must participate in each consortium; one of them must be based in Southeast Asia. A list of participating countries can be found on the JFS website. Further information on the rules of the call is available on the JFS website. Please refer to the respective national participation requirements and get in touch with the specified contact person for further information. Except for self-financed partners, all research partners in a consortium are supported by their own national or regional funding agency.

Swiss-based researchers applying for financial support from the SNSF to participate in the call must meet the eligibility requirements for SNSF Project funding. In addition, applicants are strongly advised to consult the guidelines of the Swiss Alliance for Global Research Partnerships (GRP-Alliance) regarding their planned projects. Applicants based in Switzerland will have to submit the full proposal via the JFS’s platform PT Outline and simultaneously via mySNF.
