New to Switzerland? Politics course for international researchers
How can your research work get through to politicians and administrations? This English-language course is designed in particular for international researchers with little knowledge of the Swiss political system.
Are you new to conducting research in Switzerland? Or would you like to increase your political skills and gain a better understanding of Swiss politics? Attend the first English-language course on politics on 17 June 2024.
Researchers and politicians have to work together constructively to overcome the challenges facing society. Making sure they understand each other doesn't just call for politicians who are interested in science but also for researchers who know something about politics. Since 2023, the SNSF has been working with Reatch to provide one-day courses on politics that aim to improve researchers’ political skills.
Intensive one-day course in English
Would you like to learn how to make sure your research makes an effective contribution to political affairs or how to get parliaments and administrations to listen to you? An introduction to the Swiss political system will show you ways in which you can contribute your knowledge to the political decision-making process and public debate even if you don’t speak one of Switzerland's national languages.
Open to all researchers in Switzerland
The course is aimed not only at researchers funded by the SNSF, but also at researchers in all disciplines and at all career stages at Swiss universities. The English-language course is intended in particular for international researchers with little knowledge of the Swiss political system.
The first course in English will take place in Bern on 17 June 2024, and the French course on 4 November 2024. Registration opens 8 weeks before the course starts. The SNSF covers the cost of this course. The number of participants is limited to 20.
