SNSF Consolidator Grants 2023

Grants for researchers who want to consolidate their scientific independence in Switzerland.

Switzerland is still considered a non-associated third country in Horizon Europe, the EU's framework programme for research and innovation. On behalf of the federal government, the SNSF is this year launching a new call for the transitional measure SNSF Consolidator Grants. The measure is aimed at researchers who had intended to apply for an ERC Consolidator Grant.

The call is open to applicants from all countries and all disciplines who wish to carry out their research in Switzerland and consolidate their scientific independence.

Applicants must have a PhD or equivalent degree awarded >7 and ≤12 years ago at the time of submission. Furthermore, they must have shown research independence and made contributions to science without the involvement of their PhD supervisor.

Applicants whose applications for an SNSF Consolidator Grant 2022 were rejected at the first or second evaluation stage are eligible to take part in the 2023 call. However, their previously submitted and evaluated proposals will not be regarded as resubmissions but as new applications.
