Nobody wants to die or to suffer in old age. The current issue of Horizons shows how research is trying to find a remedy – no matter how long and difficult a process – and join the dance around the fountain of youth.

Everyone wants to grow old, but nobody wants to be old. The current issue of Horizons takes an in-depth look at longevity. It investigates what actually happens in human cells when the body breaks down and what antidotes there might be. It also presents creatures that defy all age limits, and features interviews on the complex moral issues surrounding old age and dying.

Other highlights include the difficulties posed by private research funding, very special viruses that could solve the problem of antibiotic resistance, and a nuclear physicist who sees almost nothing but good in nuclear energy.

The current Horizons is as diverse as the research itself – and, as always, freely accessible to all.
