Call for proposals THCS: Better Care Closer to Home – Enhancing Primary and Community Care
The European Partnership on Transforming Health and Care Systems (THCS) is launching a third call for proposals, in which Swiss-based researchers can take part.
The aim of this third call, “Better Care Closer to Home: Enhancing Primary and Community Care,” is to fund research projects that strengthen primary and community health and care systems. The goal is also to support initiatives that provide policy- and decision-makers with the necessary knowledge and tools to effectively govern the transitions that are needed in these sectors.
- Strengthening the primary and community health and care system: When placing individuals and populations at the centre of health and care, it is of key importance that the services and systems themselves undergo change. Improving the different settings where health and care services are delivered is central. Through its funded projects, this call aims to enable reduced reliance on institutionalised treatment in favour of seamless care pathways and different forms of primary and community health and care.
- Systemic approaches to modernising the primary and community care sector: Policy- and decision-makers require evidence-based and practice-based knowledge to strengthen primary and community care pathways. One major obstacle is the lack of systemic understanding of the needs within the primary and community health and care sector. These include the complexities of national and regional policies, infrastructures and local governance. Proposals should leverage multidisciplinary and transnational perspectives to generate knowledge that is transferable and applicable across different European health and care systems.
Research and innovation projects funded under this call are expected to deliver concrete, feasible, actionable and transferable results that enable patient-centered care pathways in individuals' preferred living environments. Project outcomes may include new and innovative practices, models of care, and strategies for their scaling, transfer and implementation across the health and care system.
Support from the SNSF
Although Switzerland is not an associated country in Horizon Europe, Swiss-based applicants can join research consortia on equal terms with applicants from EU member states and other countries participating in the call. Together with Innosuisse, the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) is participating in this third call.
Swiss-based partners seeking financial support from the SNSF must meet the eligibility criteria for SNSF project funding. If this is your first application to the SNSF, it is advisable to contact the SNSF Administrative Offices for guidance. In addition, an administrative application must be submitted to the SNSF via the mySNF online platform by the same deadline that the consortium applications must be submitted through the Joint Call Secretariat (JCS) electronic submission system.
The deadline for submitting pre-proposals is 30 January 2025. For further details, please refer to the THCS website.
